DALLAS ARTS DISTRICT
Master Plans  /  Dallas, Texas

DeShazo Group developed a master plan for the Dallas Arts District, a 19-block/68-acre site in Downtown Dallas, which is the largest of its kind in the United States.  Contained within this district are numerous institutions  -- each with its unique transportation and parking needs --for which our firm has provided traffic engineering and parking analysis and design services.  Among these are the Dallas Museum of Art, the Meyerson Symphony Center, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, the Arts Magnet School, the Belo Home, the Cathedral Santurio de Guadalupe, the future Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, Hunt Oil headquarters, the I and II Arts Plaza buildings, and the Museum Tower Condominiums.

The master plan design addressed the impact these institutions would have on the surrounding thoroughfares, provided mitigation measures to offset potential negative impacts, included 20,000 spaces of underground parking, an underground goods and services spine road, pedestrian and vehicle access/circulation systems, and a connection to a planned subway system.
