MOCKINGBIRD STATION
Mixed-use  /  Dallas, Texas

The firm has been involved with every major project in the Mockingbird Station area of Dallas.  These projects include the renowned Mockingbird Station development built by Ken Hughes; the Phoenix Midtown apartments, located east of Mockingbird Station, across the parking lot; the Twin Sixties plans north of the Mockingbird DART Station and the Palomar Hotel and Residences directly across Mockingbird from Mockingbird Station.  In addition, the firm has provided major traffic and parking studies services to Southern Methodist University and is now on retainer to provide indefinite delivery of services for any project that may arise at Southern Methodist University, either on their main campus in University Park or potentially at their new campus which is located directly north of the Mockingbird DART Station.

DeShazo Group provided professional traffic and transportation engineering services for Mockingbird Station, the first major mixed-use redevelopment project initiated by the DART light rail line.  This transit-oriented development contains over 200 loft-style apartments, a 550,000-square-foot office tower, fine bistros, a cinema, and retail uses.  The firm worked closely with United Commercial Realty and their professional design team to address the transportation issues related to traffic access, circulation and parking, and developed a traffic management plan to minimize the impact of vehicular traffic movements in the vicinity of the busy North Central Expressway interchange.
