ProjectDeShazo Group played a critical role in the planning of the 1,250-bed Residential Commons on SMU’s campus, a major student life initiative designed to enhance campus living. Working in collaboration with the university and its design team, DeShazo addressed transportation needs for this high-density development located on a constrained site in the heart of Dallas.

1. Designed an 800+ space parking garage to serve both the Residential Commons and broader campus community
2. Integrated circulation and access needs into the overall site plan for optimal flow and functionality

1. Reconfigured surrounding streets to create a unified and contiguous development parcel
2. Ensured smooth integration with the existing campus street grid and minimized disruptions

1. Assessed the impact of increased residential density on both pedestrian and vehicular traffic
