MOTOR STREET TASK FORCES I & II
Transportation / Dallas, Texas DeShazo Group was hired by a collective group of major property owners with frontage along Motor Street in the Southwestern Medical District in Dallas, Texas. Two separate task forces were organized to facilitate future improvements to the roadway in light of significant anticipated growth of private and institutional development in the long-term future. The improvements for the northern segment of Motor Street involved obtaining an upgrade and amendment of the City of Dallas Thoroughfare Plan, and developing a commensurate conceptual roadway design (through consensus of the Task Force members) to be implemented by the Texas Department of Transportation. The southern segment of Motor Street involved coordinating local, regional, and federal funding sources to upgrade the roadway to a six-lane boulevard with auxiliary lanes to enhance capacity. Both task force duties involved coordination with regional transit agencies to accommodate existing and future passenger rail infrastructure. Our most recent multifamily, new-urbanism project within this area was providing services to support the Cityville project that First Worthing developed near a future DART station. |
