PARK CITIES BAPTIST CHURCH
Religious / Dallas, Texas DeShazo Group developed the functional parking design for Park Cities Baptist Church's underground “smart” parking garage. This garage is the second in the area with the latest technology for guiding motorists to an available parking space. The new International Terminal parking garage at the D/FW International Airport was the first one in the area. Electronic signs showing the status of the parking garage (open, closed, full) are provided on Northwest Highway for visitors approaching the church from the east and west, and on Villanova Drive for those arriving from the east. "Real time" information of the number of vacant parking spaces on each parking level is displayed on message signs at the garage entrance. Signs within the garage assist in finding the first available parking space. This technology enables simple and user-friendly navigation through the different levels of the garage. There are three levels of the garage: the first level is called “P1", the second is “P2", and the third is “P3". Each level has a color and a corresponding scripture verse. The color and scripture markers are designed to help in recalling the level on which the car is parked. The concourse connects the P1 level of the parking garage underground to the Collins Building, Ellis Parlor and the main building. The elevator in the main building accesses the sanctuary level. |
