JOHN PETER SMITH HOSPITAL
Master Plan/Fort Worth, Texas John Peter Smith Hospital is the Tarrant County public hospital and regional medical center located at 1500 S. Main Street in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2019, Tarrant County taxpayers approved a bond program which was awarded to the hospital to expand and improve existing facilities. Full build-out of the hospital will include the consolidation of medical office (MOB) space and outpatient services into the same building, the demolition of the Morphy Street Garage and construction of a new 2,600-space garage (as well as 95 additional spaces for the Hemphill lot and 290 additional spaces for the 1575 Garage), and the construction of a new building to expand inpatient and behavioral health functions. The Hospital has voiced concerns regarding the availability and usage of the parking supply upon build-out of the proposed facilities. As such, the services of DeShazo Group, Inc. (DeShazo) were retained by BROADDUS and Associates (Client) on behalf of John Peter Smith Hospital (Hospital, JPS) to perform a comprehensive traffic engineering, transportation planning and parking analysis taking into account all existing facilities and parking demand by type of parker, projecting the campus parking demand by build-out. |
